Florence Lee Nunes

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Florence Lee Nunes (Flo, Joggie), age 77, of Las Vegas, Nevada, who departed this life peacefully on September 17, 2024. Born on November 27, 1946, in Paterson, New Jersey, Florence was a beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Shirley Pratt. 

After residing in Hawthorne, New Jersey she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1990 with her family. She enjoyed a successful career in the food and beverage industry, starting as a cocktail waitress and then as a bartender for an elite clientele. With her passion for coffee, she eventually became the town's beloved barista. She added her special touch to every order, served with a generous heart, and was always there to lend an ear. Florence was the heart of her family, a devoted matriarch whose love knew no bounds. Her unwavering faith in God guided her through life, and she was deeply committed to her church, finding joy and purpose in serving others. 

She had a passion for the beach, seizing every opportunity to soak in the sun and enjoy the ocean breeze. A true connoisseur of life’s little pleasures, she brightened every room with her signature red lipstick and love for leopard print, reflecting her vibrant spirit and zest for life. 

She found immense happiness in gathering her loved ones around her, often sharing heartfelt conversations over a steaming cup of coffee. Anyone who knew Flo would say she had a genuine love for the Lord, was a precious friend to many, and truly a special and kind soul. She loved fiercely and was deeply loved in return, touching countless lives and leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. 

She is survived by her husband, Andre Nunes; her loving siblings, Thomas Pratt Jr. (Maria), Shirley Rose, and Susan Pratt; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Bill), David (Nexie), Tricia (Justin), Katie (Seth), Brittany (Schuyler), Michael (Lindsey), Joanna (Matthew) and Isabella. She is also remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews, David, Carson, Morgan, Dylan, Lily, Ryan, Kaeden, Brooklyn, Harley, Eden, Naomi, Shiloh, and Shepherd. Each of them carries a piece of Florence’s (Aunt Joggie’s) warmth and kindness in their hearts. 

A celebration of Florence’s beautiful life will be held on October 20, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Inspired Life Memorials, 311 North Buffalo Drive, Suite B, Las Vegas, Nevada. Florence’s light will forever illuminate the hearts of those who loved her. Her absence will be profoundly felt, yet her spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. The love she shared so freely and the warmth of her presence will remain as a beautiful legacy, reminding us all of the joy she brought into our lives.
