We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of GLORIA JUNE HARRIS. Gloria will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of her family and friends.
AN INSPIRING LIFE
Gloria June Harris was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 2, 1932 to mother Ethel Brown and father Emil Harris. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, Gloria attended DuSable High School. After completion of her earlier education, Gloria then furthered her education at Jones Teacher College. Gloria became an employee for the State of Illinois until she later retired in 1994. Gloria was known for her kind spirit and generous heart, given donations to many different foundations and a remarkable ability to never forget a birthday. Gloria prayed for her loved ones daily and wrote daily prayers for each of them. She was truly an inspiration. While Gloria had a desire to help others, nothing gave Gloria more happiness than praising and worshiping God. Gloria was very involved in her church home at Ebenezer Baptist Church where she spent a lot of her time doing what she loved most. God has truly gained an angel and she will be greatly missed.
Gloria proceeds in death her mother Ethel Brown, her father Emil Harris, her son John Mays and her sister Betty Harris. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Betty Harris, grand daughter April Diaz, grandson’s Maurice, Marcel, Marquis, John Jr and Michael a host of great grand children and great great grandchildren, family and friends.
