It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) V Osio after a brief illness. Joe was a twenty-four-year resident of Ventura, and has resided in Las Vegas, NV for 19 years with his wife Mary E Osio of 52 years.

Joe was born in Mexico City, Mexico on October 17th, 1943, to Clem and Esperanza Osio and was the youngest of 4 children. Joe immigrated to the United States in 1958 and would graduate from Santa Monica High School and later attend Fresno State University. Joe joined the US Army in 1966 and served for 4 years. Upon completion of his Army service, Joe would reside in Santa Monica Ca, where he would meet his future bride Mary Ellen Osio (Dion). After a courtship Joe and Mary would marryin Las Vegas Nv in 1970. In 1972 there only son Joseph (Joe) Osio would be born, and the family would relocate to Fresno Ca., where Joe would attend Fresno State University obtaining his degree in 1976 in Spanish Communications. Joe and his family would relocate back to Santa Monica Ca, where he would then begin a career in the banking industry. 

In 1980 Joe and his family would relocate to Ventura Ca, where he worked for SAVIN corporation. In the mid 1980’s, Joe and his wife decided to pursue their mutual passion for Antiques and Fine Art and open their store Family Tree Antiques in Downtown Ventura’s Zander Building. Joe operated the store throughout the late 1980’s, 1990’s and up until retirement in the early 2000’s. 

Joe and his wife Mary of 52 years shared a lifetime of joy and shared life experiences that will be forever cherished. Joe took great joy in his family, friends and experience life in its entirety.

Joe is survived by his wife Mary Osio, Son Joseph (Joe) Osio, Grandchildren Jarred and Wyatt Osio, Sister Esperanza Osio, Brother-in-law Tom Dion (JuDee), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A small remembrance service will be arranged Summer 2022 in Ventura Ca. where sprinkling of ash into the pacific as this was his request.
