We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of JOSEPH PAUL LONG. Joseph will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of his family and friends.
A LIFE WELL LIVED
Joseph P. Long, 71, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on Friday, September 15th following a short but heroic fight with Oral Cancer. He was born in Ashville, NC and grew up in Harrogate, TN until moving to Knoxville, TN his senior year of high school. He was a loving and steadfast husband to Dea Long for 28 years. He was a loving and supportive father to Shaun, Jade (sp. Marcos) and Rachel. Joe was blessed to have a large and extended family including siblings, numerous cousins, nieces/ nephews and more.
As was often said of him, Joe never met a stranger and was blessed to have countless friends from all over the world. Joe was a graduate of Hiwassee College and the University of Phoenix and always had a strong passion for learning.
Joe served with great pride in the United Stated Air Force as an Air Refueler (Boom Operator) and retired after 21 years of service. Following his Air Force career, Joe joined the Kingston Post Office and was a staple in the community during the 13 years he was a clerk. Despite his retirement he continued to keep in touch with many post office coworkers and regular customers.
Joe loved his family and friends and loved getting to know new friends. He will be greatly missed.
