It’s with the heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of Marcia Jean Goggin on July 2nd, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home with her son and daughter in law by her side. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 27, 1937. She was preceded in death by her father George Gosma, her mother Florence Gosma Sumner (Matt) her brother James Gosma (Louise) son in Law Roger Dinges and her husband of 30 years, Dennis L. Goggin Sr. She is survived by brothers Rev Robert Gosma and David Gosma (Barbara) her children Dennis Goggin Jr (Donna) David Goggin (Joanne) James Goggin (Loretta) and daughter Jean Dinges. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends who love and will miss her.

    Marcia graduated from Catholic Central High School in Muskegon, married her husband Dennis on August 18, 1956, and followed him through his 26 -year Air Force career. She enjoyed raising her 4 children on bases in Mississippi, Florida and Utah. She loved playing the organ for the base chapel services and eventually starting her own career in the Army & Air Force Exchange Services (AFFES) eventually retiring as a BX manager at Moody AFB, Georgia. After retiring, she attended Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia graduating with a Degree of Arts (Sociology and Anthropology). She then worked with an adult care facility until she retired and moved to Winchester, Virginia to be close to her daughter and family.

    She loved traveling through the years to see friends and family but especially enjoyed her trip to Hawaii with her husband Dennis and her trip to Germany with friends.   

    In 2018 she made her final move to Nevada to live with her son Dennis, Donna and family. She enjoyed her Saturday evenings playing bingo, quickly adjusting to the Las Vegas lifestyle. Her greatest love always was attending catholic mass at St. Francis of Assisi and Sunday brunch. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:30 AM inside the Legacy Lounge at Inspired Life Memorials at Summerlin, located at 311 N. Buffalo Dr. Suite B., Las Vegas, NV 89145. There will be a luncheon to follow the service.
