Ola May Sanders

We honor and celebrate the Inspiring Life of OLA MAY SANDERS. Ola will be cherished and remembered through the legacy of her family and friends. 

A LIFE WELL LIVED

Beloved mother, sister, grandmother (known as babe or Grola to her granddaughter) & friend departed this world on May 23, 2024, at the age of 62. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 11, 1962 to May Ola Henderson & BH Henderson before traveling the world with the father of her two children Eugene Sanders and eventually moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. Ola is survived by her forever loves, daughter Eugena Umunnakwe(Emmanuel), son Matrix Sanders & granddaughter Eliana Umunnakwe whom she cherished and loved endlessly.

Ola will also be deeply missed by her siblings four brothers, Johnny Henderson (Connie), Bill Henderson (Delores), Lee Henderson (LaRenda), T.C. Henderson (Glenda), Her special friend whom she created a sisterhood with Ruby Jean Young & a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ola is proceeded in death by her mother and father May Ola and BH Henderson, her brothers Larry Henderson, Lawrence Henderson & her good friend whom she looked at as a sister Sharon Brown. Ola graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1980 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ola’s journey led her from Shreveport, Louisiana to various places due to her career of a payroll manager in the casino industry.

Ola was known for her intelligence, kindness, warm personality, wit & incredible sense of humor she was known to be a person of reason, honesty and always able to find the silver lining in any situation.

Ola had a beautiful relaxed life where she enjoyed traveling, seeing new movies, shopping, spoiling her only grandchild, reading and enjoying her children.

Ola took pride in her appearance and enjoyed getting dressed and looking her best. Ola will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, dedication, honesty and ability to give great advice without being biased. Her legacy of joy, kindness, honesty, and positivity will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace

A Family & Friends Viewing took place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Inspired Life Memorials at Summerlin, located at 311 N. Buffalo Dr. Suite B, Las Vegas, NV 89145. The Celebration of Life Service took place immediately following at 1:00 PM, with a Reception following the service at 2:00 PM inside The Legacy Lounge at Inspired Life, located at 311 N. Buffalo Dr. Suite C, Las Vegas, NV 89145.
