MARCH 21, 1953 – FEBRUARY 13, 2021
Pamela Kay Ryan, 67, of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 13th, 2021. Born March 21st, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the eldest daughter of the late Robert Eugene Crosby and Leila Nadean Pike of Lansing, Michigan. Pamela grew up, worked, and lived in Michigan until 1979 when she and her daughter, Laurie, moved to California. She enjoyed 32 years working for Libbey Glass at their City of Industry, California, and Shreveport, Louisiana locations, as a Systems Analyst Supervisor. When Pamela retired and moved back to Michigan she opened, Afghans For Babies, her online Etsy shop, then spent the rest of her years doing what she loved most…
“Thanks to my Nanny (maternal grandmother), both knitting & crocheting have been an enjoyable creative pastime for me all my life. Now that I’m a grandmother and in my retirement years I decided I want to spend my time making lovely baby afghans. This is the first time in my life that I have a job that I love doing!” – Pamela Ryan
Pamela is preceded in death by her father, Robert Eugene Crosby, and her nephew, Robert Allen Becker.
Pamela is loved and cherished by her mother, Leila Nadean Crosby of Lansing, Michigan; daughter, Laurie AnnRyan Baca (Mark Baca) of California, granddaughters, Ashley Rose Curran (Ethan Curran) of Nevada, and Valerie Angel Tapia of California; siblings, Larry Lynn Crosby, Debra Sue Becker, and Michael Mark Crosby; nephew, Lawrence, niece, Miranda, and nephews, David, Daniel, and Justin; and lifelong friend; Linda. Pam will forever be in our hearts.
In loving memory of my mom, Pam, for those who she loved and those she crossed paths with, I leave you with her favorite quote…
“It’s never too late to become what you could have been.”

Pamela lost a battle to cancer and was with her family in Nevada when she passed. It was her wish that some of the proceeds from the sale of her afghans be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family will carry out that wish and donate a portion of all the sales made from her Afghansforbabies | Etsy.
For those wishing to make memorial contributions in Pamela’s name and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you Make a donation to end childhood cancer – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
